With over 600 students, Alamo is one of San Francisco's largest elementary schools, yet it continues to provide an excellent environment for learning and development.
Q: How does Alamo rank in testing?
Alamo students have consistently ranked well in standardized tests. Alamo also provides an enriched set of options for students thanks to the programs supported by the Friends of Alamo School Foundation (FASF) and the Parent Teacher Association (PTA).
Q: Why is there a PTA and a Foundation?
The PTA provides similar support to programs at Alamo as do other PTA organizations at other schools. The Foundation was created to provide a support organization to hire people to provide programs such as arts (ceramics, visual arts, physical education and choral music) which the San Francisco Unified School District does not provide.You can learn more about the Foundation and PTA, as well as look at some of the events sponsored by both on the Alamo calendar.
